Job Title: Party Strategist
Position Summary:
The Party Strategist will play a key role in shaping the Democratic Freedom Caucus (DFC)’s relationship with the Democratic Party at the state and local levels. The ideal candidate will focus on identifying strategies for collaboration with the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and its affiliates, ensuring that DFC’s goals align with party objectives while maintaining its unique voice. This role will involve cultivating relationships with the Democratic National Committee (DNC), state parties, local affiliates, and allied organizations to maximize DFC’s impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Coordination
- Identify opportunities for partnership and collaboration with Democratic Party affiliated organizations, such as committees, caucuses, and advocacy groups.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure DFC’s objectives align with state and local Democratic priorities, fostering collaboration and mutual support.
- Work with state and local Democratic organizations to build coalitions that promote DFC’s values within the broader party framework.
- Research various legalities and bylaws in order to develop plans that may need to follow state-specific guidelines.
- Relationship Building
- Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the DNC, state and local Democratic Party organizations, and their affiliates.
- Act as the primary liaison between the DFC and Democratic leaders, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
- Advisory and Support Role
- Serve as a strategic advisor to DFC leadership on how best to engage with the Democratic Party while maintaining DFC’s independence and mission.
- Provide guidance to the organization on how to influence policy, recruit members, and advance initiatives within the Democratic Party structure.
- Monitoring and Reporting
- Stay up-to-date on party dynamics, key issues, and leadership changes within the Democratic Party to inform DFC’s strategy and actions.
- Report to DFC leadership on the progress of relationships, strategies, and outcomes in collaboration with state, local, and national Democratic entities.
Qualifications:
- Experience in political strategy, inner-party organizing, Democratic Party operations, or campaign management.
- Strong understanding of Democratic Party politics, especially at the state and local levels, and the organizational structure of the DNC and its affiliates.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with a demonstrated ability or willingness to work across various political factions.
- Ability to develop and execute complex political strategies, while navigating the interests of multiple stakeholders.
